Dishwasher capacity is measured in place settings: One place setting equals a full set of dishes and cutlery for one person. As a guide, a capacity of 9–10 place settings suits a household of 1 or 2 people, capacity of 12–14 place settings suits 3–4 people, and larger households benefit from a capacity of 14 or more place settings.
